Course content:

The implant dentistry programme aims to provide surgeons with the knowledge and core skils required to deliver high quality dental care and to promote understanding of the different aspects essential to the provision of predictable, safe and ethical implant treatment.

It offers a complete introduction to the clinical care of implant patients, including the process of examination, diagnosis, investigation and patient management. The programme also aims to reflect the most recent research in the field of implant dentistry and is not limited to focus on specific system protocols, thus providing students with the broadest possible understanding of the subject.

The surgical sessions are taught in the general practice environment and there is a strong emphasis on the quality of care provided in general practice.

Course Benefits:

On completion of the course students should have a systematic understanding of implant knowledge, and a critical awareness of current problems and new insights, much of which is at, or informed by, the forefront of the academic discipline and area of professional practice.

The course focusses on the provision of implants in general practice and will enable students to provide high quality care in that environment.
