Course aims:

The Eastman is delighted to announce that, due to the sucessful 2007 launch of the UCL Diploma in Implant Dentistry and subsequent demand, the course is now running on an annual basis next commencing in October 2008.

This part time modular Diploma is ideally suited to any general dental practitioner or specialist wishing to develop their knowledge of implant dentistry and extend clinical skills whilst still working towards a university postgraduate qualification.

Course content:

The Diploma is a structured programme of 48 days of didactic study split into 2 levels. The programme is held one day per month over a period of 4 years.

Level 1: Years 1 and 2 will focus on building a sound evidence-based knowledge of implant dentistry and will involve patient treatment under the direct supervisionof course leaders.

Level 2: Years 3 and 4 are spent consolidating information learnt in years 1 and 2 and further extending the knowledge and skills basewith regard to advanced procedures such as soft and hard tissue grafting as well as sinus lift procedures.

Teaching will include interactive lectures, seminars, hands-on procedures and live surgery as well as supervised clinical treatment and mentoring throughout the course.

Didactic aspects of the programme will be provided by an experienced multidisciplinary team of GDC registered specialists and will include invited national and international speakers.
