This evening promises to give an insight on when being tasked with complex multi or inter disciplinary dental rehabilitations and the outcomes that our patients expect which is often focused on aesthetics and longevity.
Is it possible for us to apply mechanical principles more effectively to produce more predictably stable outcomes for them?
An understanding of occlusion may be one of the keys to achieving this goal.
Sadly it is too vast a topic to be comprehensively learned during a study club meeting.
However what can be done is to review and discuss some of the fundamental principles, common misconceptions, hidden pitfalls and simple tips & tricks that might go some way to making this most enigmatic, misunderstood, oft avoided and yet utterly fundamental of subjects within dentistry a little clearer, in the hope we can thereby improve our case outcomes.
Learning Objectives are as follows:
- Developing a structured process that can be applied to any case of any size or complexity.
- Understanding appliances, when and how to employ them.
- Anterior Guidance, why this so called ‘Gold standard’ doesn’t work for everybody and how to find out which patients that might be before we begin a case.
- Implants & Occlusion; factors to consider.
