The Board

The ADI is administered by a nationally elected body of trustees (the Board), all of whom are Dentists, Dental Care Professionals or Dental Technicians who have volunteered their time to meet regularly in order to develop and implement the strategy of the ADI.

The Board meets on average four times a year, and has also created the following sub-committees to assist with the development of its activities: Congress Sub-committee, Masterclasses Sub-committee, Study Clubs Sub-committee and ADI Next Gen sub-committee (the committee of early career members).

Elections for the roles of President take place every two years. Elections for all other Trustee roles take place every three years.

The specific elective roles on the Board are Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Academic Representative, DCP Representative, Technician Representative, and Regional Representatives for the ten UK regional areas,  Other Trustees may have no special area of oversight but serve as general Trustees.

Eligibility for election for most roles is open to all full members, though recruitment and voting for the senior Board roles of President, Treasurer and Secretary rests with the Trustees. The Regiional roles are voted for within their local areas, and the Technician Representative and DCP Representative are elected by the Technician Members and the DCP Members respectively. The Academic Representative is elected by a national vote.
