From the general to the implant dentist, the 1 day PRESERVE course will provide you with a predictable and simplified approach to ensure you can cultivate the ideal conditions for future implant or bridge placement for your patients. Learn surgical tips to improve your extraction and suturing techniques. Become confident in socket debridement and cleansing. Understand and see the different biomaterials available & the advantages and disadvantages of each. Practice how to use all of these skills to neatly and confidently perform ridge preservation in practice.

Aims & Objectives

To understand why, when and how one can use ridge preservation techniques successfully in daily dental practice to improve aesthetic, soft tissue & bony outcomes for our patients. To understand the use of current biomaterials to optimise ridge dimensions and to gain an insight into fundamental extraction, surgical & GBR principles.

- Learn the different behavioural characteristics of: Autograft, allograft, xenograft & synthetic bone in respect to ridge preservation
- Learn the principles of dental extractions.
- Understand the importance of adhering to surgical & GBR principles.
- Perform successful extractions with minimal trauma.
- Learn how to visually assess CBCTs and decide the appropriate technique.
- Perform ridge preservation grafts.
- Learn how to internally stabilise the barrier membrane.
