Edmund Proffitt Chief Executive BDIA

With nearly 40 years working in trade associations and advocacy—including 12 at the BDIA—Edmund brings extensive experience in member engagement, government relations, regulation, and association governance. He led the industry’s anti-counterfeit initiative, launched the ‘Think Supplier: Think BDIA member’ campaign and product directory, and has played a key role in shaping the UK’s new medical devices regulatory regime, ensuring the dental sector’s voice is heard.

Edmund also chairs the UK MedTech Forum, is Vice Chair of the Life Sciences National Registration Council and serves as a Trusted Adviser to the MHRA.

Adam Stanley Policy & Public Affairs Manager

Adam has a background in lobbying, advocacy, and public affairs, having worked in political monitoring and think tanks. He has experience covering and analysing policy developments across a broad range of legislative areas in the UK and abroad and has campaigned to promote issues both inside and outside Government.

At the BDIA, Adam champions the dental industry’s interests in the UK, Europe, and beyond, working closely with public and private sector stakeholders. Recent work includes supporting EU MDR implementation and advising the MHRA on shaping the UK’s medical device regulatory framework. He also oversees the Association’s statistics and export programmes and provides members with regular technical and regulatory updates.
