WHY ATTEND

This session will explore the key principles behind successful immediate molar implant placement, including socket anatomy, implant positioning, primary stability and management of the extraction site.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

► Dr Yusuf Alshafi

Dr Yusuf Alshafi is an experienced implant dentist, educator and mentor with a strong clinical focus on complex implant dentistry, full-arch rehabilitation and advanced surgical treatments.
He graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute in 2007 and went on to work as a Senior House Officer at Guy’s Hospital in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry. He subsequently completed the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and later gained an MSc in Dental Implantology.
Over the course of his career, Yusuf has undertaken extensive postgraduate implant training across the UK, Europe and the United States, allowing him to develop experience across the full spectrum of implant dentistry — from straightforward single-tooth replacement through to complex grafting, immediate implant placement and full-arch rehabilitation.
Alongside his clinical practice, Yusuf has developed a strong passion for postgraduate education. He regularly teaches and mentors dentists looking to develop their confidence and competence in implant dentistry, with a particular emphasis on translating evidence-based principles into techniques that can be applied predictably in everyday clinical practice.
He is Co-Founder and Clinical Lead of Innovative Implant Training, where he runs a Diploma in Implant Dentistry programme alongside an experienced multidisciplinary faculty. He also teaches implants on various other MSc and Diploma programmes across the UK.
Yusuf’s teaching style is practical, open and clinically driven. Rather than simply demonstrating ideal cases, he focuses on treatment planning, surgical decision-making, complication avoidance and the lessons learned from managing real-world implant cases.
His aim is to help dentists understand not only how to perform implant procedures, but why particular techniques work, when to use them and how to manage cases predictably from initial assessment through to definitive restoration.
