200 Miles to Congress: Thank You to Our Supporters

As part of the ADI’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, four members of the ADI Board are taking on an extraordinary challenge – cycling more than 200 miles over two days to raise funds for two charities doing incredible work.

Dr Andrew Little, Dr Adam Bzeu, Dr Amit Mistry and Dr Kasia Gurzawska will set off from Banbridge in Northern Ireland on Tuesday 13 April 2027, cycling to Dublin before crossing the Irish Sea to Holyhead and completing the final leg to Liverpool. The team will cross the finishing line at the ADI Team Congress on the morning of Thursday 15 April.

The ride is expected to involve more than 200 miles and 24 hours of cycling over two days, depending on ferry schedules and weather conditions!

Thank you to our sponsors

A challenge of this scale wouldn't be possible without the support of our sponsors. We're incredibly grateful to Sweden & Martina, Envistaco, BioHorizons Camlog, Digimax, Inserta and Imetric for supporting the ride and helping us raise funds for two important causes.

We invited our supporting organisations to share why they chose to get involved and what the challenge means to them.

“Here at Sweden & Martina we are pleased to support Young Lives vs Cancer and the Dentists’ Health Support Trust because both causes are about people; supporting individuals and their families through times when life can feel incredibly difficult.

Whether it’s a young person facing cancer or a dental professional struggling with their physical or mental health, having the right support can make a huge difference. We’re proud to support organisations that are there when people need them most and hopefully play a small part in helping someone feel less alone.”

Heidi Garlant, and Jayna Madlani

"We are delighted to support the challenge, especially as several of our customers are taking part. Supporting initiatives that bring our dental community together while raising funds for Young Lives vs Cancer and the Dentists' Health Support Trust was an easy decision. The commitment and determination shown by everyone involved is truly inspiring, and we are proud to play a small part in supporting two charities that make a real difference to people's lives. We wish everyone taking part the very best and look forward to following their journey to Congress."

Julie Rousseau

"Supporting the wellbeing of our dental community and making a positive difference beyond the profession are causes close to our hearts at BioHorizons Camlog. Having previously raised awareness of the Dentist Health Support Trust through our National Symposium, we were delighted to support the ADI Charity Cycle Challenge and help shine a light on the important work of both the Dentist Health Support Trust and Young Lives vs Cancer. Good luck riders, you've got this!"

Naomi Pleasants

“Supporting such important causes alongside the ADI team was a no-brainer for me. I’m glad Digimax could play a small part in helping raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer and the Dentists’ Health Support Trust.”

Shaz Memon

"The reason I believed it was our responsibility as a company to sponsor these two tremendous charities was due to the lack of support and knowledge of the great work they both carry out.

Unfortunately 1 in 2 people will receive that dreaded cancer diagnosis according to most recent statistics. As a father of 4 I believe that we should do everything within our power to help children and their families who receive this terrifying news.

Also when I began working within the dental industry I was shocked to find out the high number of suicide rates. We often overlook mental heath but it is something that again is overwhelming and if we can help save at least one life then our support is well worth it."

Anthony Flanagan

"On behalf of everyone at Imetric, we are delighted to support this fantastic charity bike ride in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer and the Dentists’ Health Support Trust (DHST). What a wonderful way to celebrate the ADI’s 40th anniversary while raising funds for two incredibly worthy causes.

Thank you to the organisers for the opportunity to be involved, and we wish all the doctors cycling from Northern Ireland to Liverpool the very best of luck. We look forward to seeing you all at the ADI Congress!"

Supporting two great causes

The challenge will raise funds for two charities that are particularly close to the hearts of the team and the wider dental community.

Young Lives vs Cancer supports children and young people affected by cancer, as well as their families, with practical, emotional and financial support.

Dentists' Health Support Trust provides confidential support to members of the dental profession experiencing mental health difficulties, stress, burnout, addiction and other personal challenges.

Every donation will be shared equally between the two charities, with an initial fundraising target of £10,000.

Opportunities to support are still available

We're incredibly grateful to the organisations that have already pledged their support, and there are still opportunities for companies to get involved and help make this challenge a success.

If your organisation would like to support the ride, please get in touch with the ADI to find out more.

And you don't have to be a sponsor to make a difference. With every contribution, whatever the amount, you're helping us raise vital funds for Young Lives vs Cancer and the Dentists' Health Support Trust.

Donate to the 200 Miles to Congress challenge

We'll be sharing regular updates as the team prepares for the challenge, including training, cycling footage, behind-the-scenes moments and stories from the two charities.

Follow the journey as we count down to the big ride – and ultimately the arrival at Congress on 15 April 2027.
