Crawford Bain

After 7 years of general practice in the UK and Canada Crawford Bain completed specialist training in Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. He then returned to a full-time teaching commitment at Dalhousie University Canada where he was first Director of Occlusion and later Head of Periodontology and Director of Implant Dentistry. He was the first periodontist to be awarded a Branemark Implant Fellowship at UCLA where his research on the effects of smoking on implant failure led to the Quintessence Award for the best article in IJOMI in 1993 and remains one of the most commonly cited articles in the implant literature.

In 1995 he returned to Scotland and in a part time teaching role directed the MSc in Primary Dental Care at Glasgow University for several years. From 1981 to 2013 he maintained specialist referral practices in Canada then Scotland, placing and restoring his first implants in 1987. He is on the GDC specialist lists for Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

Most recently he was Professor and Postgraduate Programme Director in Periodontology at Mohammed bin Rashid University Dubai UAE. He has made over 400 presentations on four continents and has over 70 publications in refereed journals.

Ashley Byrne

Ashley Byrne

Ashley is the owner of Byrnes Dental Laboratory, a leader in modern dental technology. He qualified with a degree in Dental Technology in 2000 and started his own lab with his Dad in 2006.  As early pioneers in the world of scanning and CAD-CAM, the lab has gone from strength to strength and now even has its own training facility. Ashley lectures on digital dentistry, and building a highly motivated team, and has spoken in countries as far as the USA, India and South Africa. Their training facility is one of the first of its kind, working to take school leavers through their technical education and to become world leading dental technicians. In his spare time Ashley is a keen cook and has a smallholding for chickens and goats.

Steve Campbell

Steve is a GDC registered dental technician with over 27 years dental experience, and a passion for the life changing service the dental team provide to our patients. Working with skilled teams and some of the most highly regarded dental surgeons in the UK, he provides solutions for all aspects of restorative dentistry, especially implants and the new digital and CAD/CAM workflows. Over time his passion for dental technology has evolved and intertwined with his love of cutting edge technology to the point where he found it possible to open and run a fully digital dental laboratory with his team at Nexus Dental in 2015. Since then the opportunities and challenges keep him very busy! When not in the lab he will usually be found at a dental event either learning from his peers or representing one of the many dental organisations he is fortunate enough to have been invited to work with, including his current role as President of the Dental Laboratories Association.

James Cox

With a strong foundation on the bench coupled with a keen interest and understanding in digital technology, James employs the latest CAD-CAM techniques to provide functional and cosmetic excellence. Starting his career in a well known laboratory with CAD-CAM equipment, James first made his foundation in dental technology on the bench. Learning traditional techniques in the lab with a strong focus in implantology drove him to utilise technology to help provide a boosted increase in reliability and quality. With a true passion for dentistry and technology, James has spent years honing his skills with CAD-CAM but without forgetting the importance of the traditional, often opting for a joint approach. James runs AesthetiCAD, which provides design, training and consultancy services for digital dental technology as well as working with Andrew Fairbanks at Fairbanks Dental Laboratories to continue to provide clinicians with aesthetic excellence.

Koray Feran

Koray Feran

Koray qualified in 1989 from Guy’s Dental Hospital, winning the Final Year Prize for overall excellence and the S.J. Kaye Prize in Oral Medicine and Pathology. He remained at Guy’s for two separate House Surgeon appointments in Prosthetic Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial surgery until 1991 when he went into general practice in North London.

Between 1991 and 1993 he completed the Master of Science degree in Periodontology from Guy’s Hospital and at the end of 1993 passed examinations to obtain a Restorative Dentistry Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has since been in practice dedicated to quality dental care, having a special interest in multi-disciplinary cases that require detailed planning and co-ordination of several specialist branches of dentistry. Between 1996 and 1999 he provided surgical services in periodontics and implant dentistry to three prestigious practices in the Knightsbridge and South Kensington areas, and established his own practice in the West End of London from 1998.

In 2005 he founded The London Centre for Implant and Aesthetic Dentistry (LCIAD Ltd.) in Wimpole Street at the heart of London’s dental and medical community. He expanded LCIAD in October 2010 into new larger premises to establish a strong clinical team with in depth experience in the management and care of patients with complex dental problems.

Koray has undergone and continues to undergo extensive postgraduate education in several countries with world leaders in many fields of dentistry and dental technology as well as being a sought-after lecturer in his own right.

Koray currently accepts referrals from colleagues for patients requiring detailed restorative dental care especially on cases with failed previous dental work. He is known for his successful multidisciplinary approach to dealing with complex cases requiring dedicated surgical and restorative branches of dentistry.

He also lectures both nationally and internationally on the subjects of surgical and restorative implant dentistry, the training of dental surgeons and their teams for implant practices and on the financial and business aspects of the provision of quality dental healthcare for individual patients requiring advanced dental care in private practice.

Adele Holland

Adele Holland’s career in dentistry started in 2007 when she quickly developed a passion for the industry.

In 2010 Adele began working at Kissdental where she spent 9 years, training and gaining knowledge in all areas and aspects of dentistry. She developed her skill set and took on the roles of Treatment Coordinator, Head Nurse, Compliance Manager and Implant Coordinator across three clinics, expanding specifically in implantology and surgical procedures.

Later in Adele’s career she began leading courses for clinicians and nurses in implantology, specifically in asepsis, full arch and immediate loading, and she now lectures for Neodent, training other nurses in all areas of implant dentistry.

Throughout her dental career, Adele has gained post qualifications in radiography, intravenous sedation and dental implant nursing.

Dimitris Liolios

Dimitris Liolios was born and raised in the city of Chania in Greece in 1985. He is a second generation dental technician, and since 2006 he is the co-owner of the ''Liolios-Dental Art Center'' dental laboratory in his hometown, alongside his father and sister. He specialises in cosmetic anterior cases, complex full mouth cases and implant cases and he is an expert CAD CAM user. He has attended various courses with renowned masters such as Gerald Ubassy, August Bruguera, Nondas Vlachopoulos, Stefan Picha, Skip Carpenter, Jungo Endo among others. He has been lecturing and demonstrating both nationally and internationally since 2015. He is a Key Opinion Leader for GC Aadva Lab Scanner and Asiga 3d Printers.

Stephen Lusty

Stephen Lusty

Stephen qualified in Cape Town, South Africa in 1996, and in 1997 he achieved his higher diploma winning the award for student of the year. He went on to work in crown and bridge labs in South Africa for 3 years before moving to the UK.

Stephen has been involved in all aspects of dental technology over his career and since 2008has run his Laboratory in Cornwall specialising in aesthetic dentistry. His passion for the ‘art of dentistry’ is what drives him to continue to strive for perfection, and throughout his career Stephen has attended courses delivered by some of the top technicians in the industry. In a normal day Stephen works closely with his clients, seeing patients for custom shade matching and finishing.

Stephen is currently an opinion leader for GC Europe and GC Tech (the digital division of GC) and he has over 20 years experience in producing implant borne prostheses.

Robert Oretti

Robert Oretti

Robert qualified at Kings College, London in 1987. After working in an orthodontic practice in Colchester for four years he moved to Newbury, Berkshire.

Robert then spent the next 14 years working in a busy private practice where he built a reputation for treating complex cases involving cosmetic, implant and orthodontic treatments. At this time, Robert also became involved in teaching and mentoring and has taught many dentists on all aspects of cosmetic and dental implant therapies.

In 2006, Robert moved to Pentangle Dental Transformations – a purpose built centre for dentists to send their patients for implant and complex treatments. Robert now spends his time between treating these referred patients and teaching.

Robert is a post graduate tutor for the Thames Valley deanery, speaker for the ADI (Association of Dental Implantology), a mentor and international speaker for the ITI (International Team of Implantologists), a Royal College of Surgeons examiner for the Implant Diploma (RCS Edin) and the Membership in Advanced General Dental Surgery (MAGDS RCS Edin) and was the President of BAAD (British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry) 2018-2020.

He presents regularly at scientific meetings and has published several articles on implant therapy.

Phil Reddington

Phil Reddington has been a dental technician for 26 years and he owns and runs a cosmetic and implant laboratory in Leeds UK. Phil’s specialist interest is in dental ceramics and he lectures and demonstrates for Cendres Métaux and Creation internationally.Phil has been a regular on the international lecture circuit for the past 9 years presenting at many symposiums and forums in the USA, Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy , Greece, Canada and the UK. Recent lectures have been for esteemed organisations such as the ITI, ADI, BAAD and AO. Phil has also recently lectured on the main stage at Masters in Kiev and Ceramists No Limits in Poland, two of the highest profile international technician events. These presentations have covered a variety of subjects such as lab to surgery communication, dental materials, CAD/CAM solutions, guided surgery, high performance polymers, the BDT technique and most recently digital and analogue tips tricks glitches and how to save them. Phil continues to work at the bench daily and enjoys the hands on ceramic layering more than ever.

Pravesh Solanki

Since completing a post-medical PhD at Oxford University over a decade ago, Pravesh Solanki’s unique marketing and business strategies have helped countless healthcare companies to scale and grow.

His superpower is building systems, processes and marketing campaigns centred around the end-to-end patient journey.

Through his agency, The Fresh, Pravesh has used this approach to support the growth of dentists, pharmacies, private hospitals, surgeons and several e-commerce businesses. 

Alongside The Fresh, Pravesh co-owns six dental practices. He is also a director of IAS Academy, the Changing Faces® denture clinic franchise and Same Day Teeth network.

His latest project is Leadflo®, an automated platform using Amazon’s machine learning algorithm for intelligent, patient-centric lead management.

Outside marketing, Pravesh’s most recent challenge was a 21 day water-only fast accompanied by a punishing workout regime. Originally intended as a one-off feat of endurance, Pravesh plans to make prolonged fasts a regular feature of 2021.
