Presented by: Dhru Shah
Host: Eimear O’Connell
Date: 24 March 2021
Time: 19:00
2020 was mired in stress, unpredictability and uncertainty. Dentistry struggled through lockdowns. The return has seen a different way of working. This has added more stress, more uncertainty and more confusion for some members of the team as well as clinicians.
Added to the stress and fear of litigation, patient complaint etc - it appears that most people want to quit dentistry.
Despite having had a plethora of courses like never before, despite having had connections in dentistry like never before - we are facing more challenges rather than solutions. Why is this?
This webinar aims to inspire the uninspired, inflate the deflated and change the way we approach these things. It isn't mindset, it isn't "stay positive" or every other buzzword. It's about practical, real life daily solutions to light the spark and reignite your passion.
Whether you have just started and have a great career ahead of you or whether you are in the twilight years and want to enjoy the days with passion, this is for you.
Learning Objectives:
- To learn how to find your blind spots
- To understand how to change the way you approach education and learning
- To understand how to grow with inspiration

Meet Dr Dhru Shah, Specialist periodontist, CEO of DentinalTubules and Trustee and founding member of the Tubules Foundation.
He came from Kenya. Oddly he was a wildlife photographer before all this.
Dhru qualified in 2003 from the University of Sheffield before moving to the wonderful place called Welshpool to do VT and associateship. In 2006 he moved to London to take up a SHO post in restorative dentistry at the Barts and London school of dentistry and in 2007 he did a maxfac SHO post at the North West London Hospitals trust before serving as a staff grade in oral surgery there, which he continued part time until 2014
In 2008 he also started his M Clin Dent in Perio. While starting his MClinDent, he also launched DentinalTubules in 2009 and got married. With the MClinDent, Tubules, part time work and a family, he slept 2 hours a night.
In 2012 he qualified as a specialist in Perio with M Clin dent and M Perio RCS Edin.
He worked at Cranmore in Belfast (which he claims to date was the best practice he has ever worked for). Between flying to Belfast every week, running Dentinaltubules (it was worked out that at one point he was doing the job of 38 people all alone on tubules whilst working in dentistry) and his staff grade job, he continued to build Tubules, continuing to do this until 2017.
In 2017 he got a team on board and now works at UKDS at Chiswell Green as a periodontist whilst continuing to inspire dentistry through DentinalTubules.
