The Year One Implant Course provides a comprehensive overview of straightforward implant dentistry. The course is the first stage of our Curriculum in Implant Dentistry, a training pathway developed in partnership with the International Team of Implantology (ITI) Online Curriculum.

We firmly believe that it is essential that people starting on their implant journey are supported and nurtured towards placing fifty implants per year. This contrasts significantly with the almost 90% of current implant customers in the UK who place less than fifteen implants per year.

We believe that practical experience is an essential element of dental implant training, as lecture-based teaching or research alone can not make you competent at placing implants. Placing implants is a practical craft, a mixture of science and art that must be practised. To this end, The Year Implant course involves a considerable amount of practical experience with models, pigs and live delegate surgery on patients.

We have tied this course in with the Straumann Mentoring Scheme, meaning everyone who comes out of the course gets assigned a mentor to take the skills and move them forward. This is perhaps one of the most essential aspects, but the course is much more than that. It's so much more than the listed syllabus and detailed content.

For some people, it's a year-long course, and then they're done. For others, it's a journey to Year Two and then Year Three, and for some, they come back and teach on the course as colleagues and friends.

All of the courses are linked through the ITI Online Curriculum and guide you on a journey towards obtaining the ITI Diploma in Implant Dentistry.
