Ali Abdellatif

Ali Abdellatif

Ali qualified in 1998 and undertook his oral surgery training at Senior House Officer level in NHS oral and maxillofacial surgery posts. He taught undergraduate oral surgery at King’s Dental Institute from 2002 to 2004. Following this he embarked on a two-year training programme in dental implants at King’s College London resulting in a Master’s Degree in Implant Dentistry (2007). Ali has since then practised implant dentistry at advanced levels and has undergone further advanced training both in the UK and internationally in bone grafting, soft tissue grafting, sinus grafting and advanced zygomatic implants. He teaches implant dentistry on private courses.

Ali practised for many years in Covent Garden London and at his own clinic in the Harley Street area (Devonshire Place), London, before moving to Hertfordshire and setting up his second clinic in St Albans, UK.

Alaa is a Specialist Oral Surgeon with extensive training at world-prestigious universities and hospitals. He is amongst a handful of surgeons in the UK with triple higher training; in academic (PhD), clinical Oral Surgery (MOralSurg) and  Implant Dentistry (Cer.Imp.Dent) utilising the latest evidence based technology to provide high standard treatments.

Qualified in Dentistry with Distinction and embarked on a career in Oral Surgery. Following Implant Dentistry training in Germany and University of Warwick, Alaa undertook his junior surgical training at prestigious Barts & the Royal London Hospitals and went to complete 3-year higher surgical training within the Maxillofacial Division at the world renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute and University College London Hospitals where he was awarded an MClinDent in Oral Surgery, with Distinction, the tri-collegiate specialty membership for Oral Surgery “MOralSurg” of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Doctor of Philosophy “PhD” degrees in craniofacial bone graft.

Saleh Aria

Dr Aria qualified in Stockholm Sweden and has been practicing in the UK since 1999. He has been the Principal Dentist at The Harrow Dental Practice since 2001.

He is a member of The Association of Dental Implantologists (ADI), International team of implantology (ITI), The British Dental Association (BDA), World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI) and The International Society of Laser Dentistry (ISLD).

He has extensive knowledge in Dental implants, bone/ridge augmentation, soft tissue management around teeth and implants and sinus floor elevation and has completed many cases over the years.

Straumann awarded him gold member status for his dental implant achievements, and he is a keynote speaker for Neoss Dental implant system which discusses bone augmentation and laser assisted implant placement especially for medically compromised patients.

Since completing his MSc in dental lasers Dr Aria has completed numerous different procedures using the laser from laser assisted endodontics, Dental Laser assisted implant placement specially for medically compromised patients, periodontal/peri-implantitis treatment and many more. He is passionate about the benefits of using the dental laser and is eager to educate and share these benefits with his peers.

Selvaraj Balaji

Dr Balaji since he obtained the BDS Degree, he worked in Maxillo facial units in the UK for several years and gained substantial experience in surgical dentistry.

For the past 15 years Dr Balaji has been working in his private dental practice which is based in Buckingham. He is the principal dentist and owner of the Gallery dental group which is made up of Meadow walk dental practice and the Gallery dental and Implant Centre. He is founder of Academy of Soft and Hard Tissue Augmentation (ASHA). and run courses and lectures in the UK and around Europe, where He teach other aspiring implantologists how to treat difficult cases. In addition, He also host study clubs, Webinars.

This journey has led me to being invited to speak at prestigious international conferences and I have been chosen as a Key Opinion Leader for Hu-friedy Germany (surgical instrument company), Geistlich Biomaterials Switzerland, Meisinger surgical instruments Germany,  Dentsply Sirona Implants Sweden and Sweden and Martina implants Italy.

 At present his practice is predominantly focused on dental implants and Regeneration techniques.

Dr Balaji has placed a few thousand dental implants to date over the last 15 years.  He has travelled around the world to develop his skills and worked with world-renowned implant surgeons.  He completed TMJ and occlusion curriculum with Peter Dawson in USA, Implant curriculum with Dr Hilt Tatum, MFDS RCPS in Glasgow, MFDS RCS in Edinburgh, LDSRCS in London, Full curriculum of autogenous bone grating technique with Prof F Khoury in Germany, Advanced surgical Master Curriculum Regenerative Implant Dentistry with Istvan Urban in Budapest and Master Soft tissue Course with Prof G Zucchelli in University of Bologna.

He routinely mentor other dentists using the latest skills and techniques. Dr Balaji has an enduring passion and commitment to his work, teaching and keeping up to date with the latest surgical innovations and research to ensure his patients are receiving the best possible care and his practice.

Daniel Benson

Daniel Benson

Dr Benson received his undergraduate dental degree from Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary in 2006.

After graduation Daniel completed a 3-year full-time residency in Operative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. Daniel’s thirst for knowledge led him to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Implantology and Dental Surgery at the International Medical College, University of Muenster in Germany. He is a registered dentist in the UK, Ireland, and Hungary. 

As a private practice associate and visiting implant surgeon his practice is limited to surgical and restorative implant treatments, cosmetic surgical and aesthetic restorative procedures. 

Daniel first moved to Edinburgh in 2009. Since 2012 he is only practicing in private practices. 

His eye for details and passion for excellence in dentistry is well known amongst his colleagues and he regularly treat patients needing advanced rehabilitation on referral basis. 

Daniel brings a strong sense of purpose and responsibility including a voice as a mentor through leading example. Daniel believes in fairness, diversity and hard work. As a team player he likes to help bringing work colleagues closer together through his workshops and and courses. He is a recognized speaker on the topics of dental implantology, bone and soft tissue management and dental photography.

Ricky Bhopal

Ricky Bhopal

Ricky graduated as a dentist from the University of Manchester with BDS Honours in 2014 and was the recipient of the prestigious Charles H Preston prize medal. Ricky attained multiple awards and prizes for achieving; the highest in finals, highest overall student over the 5 year Dentistry course, distinction in case presentations and was also awarded the outstanding academic achievement award for being in the top 0.5% of students at the University of Manchester. 

Since qualifying, Ricky has had a range of experience in both dental practices and in hospitals. He worked as an Oral & Maxillofacial Senior House Officer at Northampton General Hospital, where he developed his oral surgery skills. He went on to gain Membership in Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2015. Ricky achieved a Diploma in Endodontology in 2016 before embarking on a 4 year specialist program in the field of prosthodontics at Guy's Hospital/ King's College London.

During his specialism, Ricky developed a passion for providing crowns, bridges, dentures and all aspects of implant dentistry. Ricky graduated from his specialist training with Distinction and is one of the few specialist prosthodontists in the UK who has passed membership with both Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and England. Ricky's commitment to the dental profession is displayed through his enthusiasm for teaching and works as a mentor to young dentists.

Harpal Chana

Harpal is a registered Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontics and Prosthodontics. He works as a part time Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Dental Implantology at Kingston Hospital, while spending the rest of his week practicing as the Principle dentist at Elmfield House Dental Practice.

In 1988 Harpal qualified from Bristol University with prizes in both Conservative and Restorative Dentistry. Following this he trained at the Eastman Dental Institute and completed his specialist training at GKT and St Georges Hospital in Tooting, during this time he also gained his Californian state board exams.

Training under the world renowned, PI Branemark, who invented the zygomatic implant concept in the early 1990’s inspired Harpal to dedicate the past 25 years of his career to furthering his skills in implant surgery. He specialises in full arch rehabilitations, often using zygomatic implants to facilitate implant placement in more challenging cases which he has also published his own data on.

Harpal works closely and mentors dentists in both surgical and prosthetic dental implant cases ranging from single teeth to full arch rehabilitation including All-on-4 implant and zygomatic implant surgery. As a renowned speaker he enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge to inspire and lift dentists to a high standard of care in all aspects of surgical and restorative dentistry enabling them to provide the best possible care for their patients.

Harpal is happy to take referrals for full arch reconstructions, including All-On-X, single tooth, zygomatic & pterygoid implants, including sinus lifts and block grafts.

Henri Diederich

Dr Henri Diederich is a doctor in dental medicine practicing in his home city of Luxembourg. He earned his Doctorate in Dentistry at the Free University of Brussels in 1985 followed by University Diploma in Implantology  at Paris Rene Descartes. He holds further Diplomas in legal dentistry from the University of Montpelier.
 

He has been running his own clinic in Luxembourg since 1985 and has placed over 15,000 implants and is sworn expert at the Luxembourg Court of Justice. He is founder and president of the Implantoral Club Luxembourg and President of the Open Dental Community (Circa 22000 followers). Henri is active member of a number of professional organisations including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), DGOI, BDIZ EDI, DGZMK and BAFO.

Dr Diederich is an international lecturer at a number of universities and has made a significant contribution to the dental field including various publications focused on the immediate loading in the atrophied bone, he has developed the Cortically Fixed at Once protocol and the Hybrid Plates for he holds Patents No 93019 and 93186.

Outside dentistry he has served as a FIFA football referee until 2001 and has been the Honorary Consul of Latvia since 2004.

Sam Elassar

Nick Fahey

Nick works in Woodborough House, his multidisciplinary referral practice in West Berkshire. 

Nick works as a specialist prosthodontist and, as such, accepts referrals related to fixed and removable prosthodontics and all aspects of dental implantology. 

Of particular interest has been his involvement in many aspects of digital dentistry. As a pioneer in computer-guided surgery, Nick has taught a generation of dentists about guided surgery and has been a KOL in this field for many companies. 

Of recent interest is the amalgamation of 3D facial scanning and real-time jaw movements into the planning process for complex reconstructive cases.

 Nick has lectured worldwide on topics such as computer-guided surgery and virtual implant planning and has authored a dental textbook titled “Guided Surgery – Making Implant Placement Simpler”. Nick is also co-director of the FitzFahey Academy – a dental education resource focused on Transforming Modern Dentistry.

David Furze

David Furze

David qualified from Cardiff University in 2000 and joined the Royal Army Dental Corp.  He completed initial surgical training in the Royal Surrey County Hospital and then joined private practice. He has since completed further postgraduate training at Kings College London in Prosthodontics. David’s implant training has also included a fellowship at the University of Berne, Switzerland.

David has published extensively in the areas of aesthetics in dental implants, immediate loading of dental implants, ceramic implants and digital dentistry, he has also published multiple research papers in peer reviewed international dental journals. He won the research prises at both the ADI conferences in 2019 and 2021 and the ITI UK conference in 2019. His work has been presented at the European Association of Osseintegration congresses in Athens and Copenhagen and he has also presented at the ITI world congress in Geneva.

David lectures both nationally and internationally on both the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implants. He has recently lectured in France, Switzerland, Latvia, Dubai and Oman as well as lecturing in the UK.

Fezaan Gatrad

Having qualified as a dentist in 2010 from King College London, Dr Fezaan Gatrad has taken great pleasure in caring for his patients.

Immediately after his foundation year training and obtaining his Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of England (MJDF RCS), he was accepted to The University of Warwick completing a Diploma in Implant Dentistry in 2014. In 2016 he graduated with a Masters in Clinical Dentistry with distinction from BPP University having received the outstanding achievement award while studying Implant Dentistry (MClinDent Implant).

Under the mentorship of leading clinicians within the UK and internationally, he has amassed a wealth of experience in a variety of implant treatments, from the replacement of single teeth, bone and Soft tissue Regeneration, to full mouth rehabilitation.  Dr Gatrad is actively involved in Implant education and has lectured on Implant Dentistry. He also works as a travelling surgeon, providing Implant treatment for multiple implant practices within the UK.

Dr Gatrad has a passion for Implant Dentistry and is a firm believer in bettering yourself through research and education. His quest to acquire new knowledge and learn the latest technique will only continue to enhance his capabilities as a clinician.

Dr Gatrad has dedicated most of his career to Implant dentistry and achieving the best possible clinical outcomes in restoring people’s confidence and smiles through his work. He prides himself on providing excellent care and maintaining long -term relationships with his patients.

Kasia Gurzawska-Comis

Kasia Gurzawska-Comis

Kasia Gurzawska-Comis is a Senior Clinical Lecturer/Honorary Specialist in Oral Surgery at the University of Liverpool. She previously completed NIHR speciality training at the University of Birmingham.  

Her main clinical interest is the multidisciplinary approach to patient care, with specific interest in tooth autotransplatation, bone regeneration and dental implantology.

Her research interest is in bone regeneration, stem cell therapy, nanotechnology and tissue engineering. She obtained her first PhD in medical science at the University of Copenhagen and second PhD in bioengineering at the Technical University of Lodz and Danish Technical University (DTU). She continued her scientific career as Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doc at the Charité Medical University Berlin and developed over years collaboration with multiple international universities.

Her future research goals focus on developing alternative biomaterials for autogenous bone grafts in ageing and compromised patients. This work is being undertaken with University of Bergen in Norway and as a member of Liverpool Head & Neck Centre (LHNC).

Dr Sunkanmi Oladeji Olaore qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2008 and 2013 where he won the Christopher Gaites prize in orthodontics and merit in special care dentistry. He has since worked in oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral surgery at various hospitals in the UK and was the clinical lead for minor oral surgery for the Oasis (BUPA) group Northern Ireland.

Dr Sunkanmi Oladeji Olaore  completed his Master’s degree in Minor oral surgery in 2019 from the University of Plymouth, and has completed his education in advanced aspects of surgical dental implant placement and restorations, alongside bone grafting and sinus lifts as part of British academy of Implant and Restorative Dentistry and Institute of clinical excellence. With special interest in oral surgery, implantology and facial aesthetics, he has published several articles in the professional circular and has delivered presentations on implant dentistry.

Dr Sunkanmi Oladeji Olaore is committed to continuing education and provides mentorship for implant and oral surgery. With his desire to deliver clinical excellence, Dr Sunkanmi Oladeji Olaore is always pursuing further knowledge and education.

Viraj Patel

Having qualified as a dentist in 2012, Viraj has set out to gain the necessary experience to help him with his goal of becoming one of the lead Implantologists in the UK for the future.

Viraj undertook hospital training in Maxillofacial and Oral surgery in 2014 and since has attended multiple Dental Implant courses within the UK.  In 2018 his passion for implants led him to New York City in, where he enrolled for 2 years at New York University (NYU), on the renowned Advanced Implant Dentistry Program.

Since moving back to the UK, on completion of the Program, in 2020 Viraj has been working as a dental implantologist in private practices across London.

He was awarded the "ITI Future Star" prize by the International Team of Implantology in 2021 and received an award for "the Best Young Implant dentist in the UK 2022".

He has also become a key opinion leader for some of the leading implant companies within the UK and is now lecturing and presenting internationally.

The majority of cases referred to him are those requiring implants in conjunction with complex ridge augmentation procedures.

Noel Perkins

Noel Perkins

Noel qualified in 2001 from the University of Sheffield, and worked for 4 years in hospital training posts (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry) in the North of England, before entering General Dental Practice in 2005. He currently works in the Lake District and has special interests in dental implant treatment and dental photography.

He has been placing and restoring dental implants since 2009, and completed the FGDP Implant diplomas in 2012 and 2014 (DipImpDent RCS(Eng) Adv Cert). He is committed to postgraduate education and has completed both the MFDS and MJDF diplomas, and a PG Cert in Dental Risk Mitigation.

He is part of the teaching faculties of mydentalriskmitigation.com (PG Cert Dental Risk Mitigation online course) and The NorthWest Dental Academy, where he teaches his LIGHT Dental Photography course several times a year in Manchester.

Ivo Raitchev

Dr Ivo Raitchev qualified from Guy's, King's and St.Thomas' dental hospital in 2008. Following this he held several SHO and staff grade posts in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery in London until 2017 when he moved to private practice in Jersey. 

His interest in advanced surgical techniques and 3D modelling was ignited when performing TMJ replacement surgery with 3D printed stereolithographic models and custom made titanium TMJ implants. 

Therefore, when 3D printing was still relatively new modality for chairside applications, he was inspired in finding how he could adopt this into his daily practice. 

In the last decade guided surgery and 3D printing has advanced at record pace. Dr Ivo Raitchev has a keen interest in discussing where the 3D revolution will take us and what advantages or obsticles it brings with it.

Fahd Saleh

Fahd completed specialist training with distinction from Guys and St Thomas Hospital Trust and Kings College London and is currently clinical lead for periodontics in several award -winning practices.

Alongside his clinical commitments, Fahd continues to maintain an active interest in periodontal research and teaching. He actively participates in mentoring and training dentists and hygienists and has given numerous lectures to local, national and international audiences.

Fahd is the recipient of numerous awards such as the Odontology President’s Clinical Research Prize by the Royal Society of Medicine in relation to his work on antimicrobial peptides. He was also the recipient of the Ron Wilson research prize from Kings College London. In 2017, Fahd was named ‘Dentist of the Year’ in recognition for his clinical, educational and charitable activities.

Bill Schaeffer

Bill Schaeffer is doubly-qualified in medicine and dentistry and is also both a medically-qualified surgeon and a specialist oral surgeon.  He is co-owner of two implant centres in Sussex.

Sami Stagnell

Having graduated from Kings College London Dental Institute in 2009 Sami worked across primary care and Maxillofacial Surgery House jobs in the South of England before taking on specialty training in Oral Surgery. 

As a specialist he currently manages and provides NHS Oral Surgery across the Wessex region and is one of the few UK graduates to have held an ITI scholarship where he spent a year in Graz Austria with the Oral Surgery and Implant team expanding his Implantology skillset.
 

He holds Memberships with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and England as well as the Faculty of General Dentistry.  Sami has completed an MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry and was awarded one of the first recognised UK Fellowships in Clinical Leadership with Health Education England. Furthermore, he is an active member of many societies and represents the profession with the British Dental Association and at the Royal Society of Medicine as well as acting as a Key Opinion Leader to several companies within the industry.

Paul Swanson

Paul Swanson received a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons England and an Advanced Certified in Bone Grafting from the RCS in 2008. He then completed the Master of Science Degree in Implant Dentistry from Queen Mary University London. Paul’s clinical practice is limited to Implant Dentistry. He owns a specialist referral practice in Liverpool and contributes to the implant elements of multidisciplinary cases done by his team. Paul mentors’ dentists at both entry and advanced level and contributes to study clubs in his region. He is a former tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons Diploma in Implant Dentistry and the ITI Study Club Director for Liverpool and is the co-director of IDEAL - an organisation running dental courses for all members of the dental team.

Joel Thomas

Joel Thomas

Joel graduated from Bristol University following which he worked as a general dentist in Worcestershire. During this period he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, gaining his MFDS post graduate qualification.

Joel quickly developed a particular passion for surgical dentistry, prompting him to pursue and advance these skills in the hospital environment. 

He gained two years experience as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Senior House Officer, working in both Worcester and Bristol. 

Joel then began his four year Periodontal Specialist training (MClinDent) at Guy's Hospital London. 

During this time he also enjoyed teaching undergraduate students at Kings College London.

Joel has published numerous articles in both national and international journals as well as presenting his work at multiple national conferences.

He is fast becoming a prominent name in the South West region due to the passion and perfectionism he shows towards his work, with a particular interest in soft tissue enhancement around both teeth and implants.

Martin Wanendeya

Martin Wanendeya

Martin graduated from the University of Bristol in 1995 and since 2004 he has been a partner at Ten Dental, an interdisciplinary specialist referral practice in Clapham, south London where his work is limited to implant and aesthetic Dentistry.

He has been awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons, England at advanced level, and alongside this has several external teaching commitments and is a Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

He is a lecturer on the Master in Aesthetics program at the University of Frankfurt and a full member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

He has a special interest on digital implant dentistry and digital smile design and has lectured internationally on all aspects of implant dentistry.

In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family, art, music and photography.
